Overview:
The Doitsu Showa Butterfly Koi is a striking koi with a bold tri-color pattern of black, red, and white, enhanced by long, flowing fins. Its scale-less (Doitsu) body and elegant swimming style make it a standout addition to any ornamental pond.

Origin:
Originating from Japan, the Showa variety is part of the traditional Sanshoku (tri-color) family. The Doitsu variant offers a mostly smooth body with striking patterns, while butterfly fins add graceful movement.

Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality koi pellets as a staple, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Offer 1–2 times daily during warmer months.

Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish such as goldfish.

Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive, ideal for community ponds.

Experience Level:
