Description

Overview:
The Albino Dantum Angelfish is a rare and elegant freshwater angelfish, celebrated for its pearly white body, long flowing fins, and striking red eyes. A selectively bred variant of the Dantum strain of Pterophyllum scalare, this angelfish boasts both genetic uniqueness and graceful movement. Its peaceful nature and luminous appearance make it a standout in planted or community aquariums.

Origin:
A domesticated strain, originally developed from wild-type P. scalare crossed with Dantum angelfish—known for their robust build and impressive finnage. The albino mutation enhances the bright, ethereal look, especially under soft or natural lighting.

Feeding:
Omnivorous and easy to feed. Provide a varied diet of high-quality flakes or micro-pellets, frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, and vegetable-based flakes to ensure vibrant health and coloration.

Tank Mates:
Generally peaceful, the Albino Dantum does well with calm community species such as tetras, corydoras, gouramis, dwarf rainbowfish, and peaceful barbs. Avoid fin-nippers or overly aggressive fish. Can be kept singly, in pairs, or small groups in adequately sized tanks.

Water Parameters:

  • Temperature: 76–82°F (24–28°C)

  • pH: 6.5–7.5

  • Soft to moderately hard water

  • Minimum Tank Size: 30 gallons for a pair; larger for groups

  • Tall tanks preferred due to long fins and upright swimming style

Special Notes:

  • Prefers planted tanks with gentle flow and plenty of vertical swimming space

  • May pair off and breed in the right conditions

  • Albino coloration may intensify under natural or warm LED lighting

  • Best kept in stable, well-maintained tanks

The Albino Dantum Angelfish is an eye-catching blend of beauty, poise, and rarity—perfect for aquarists looking to elevate their freshwater aquarium with a truly angelic centerpiece.
