Overview:
The Asagi Butterfly Grade A Koi is a classic ornamental koi featuring a delicate blue-gray body with a reticulated (net-like) scale pattern and vibrant red or orange accents on the belly and fins. Its long, flowing butterfly fins and graceful swimming make it an elegant focal point in any premium pond.
Origin:
Originating from Japan, the Asagi variety is renowned for its soft blue coloration and distinct reticulation. This Grade A butterfly specimen has been selectively bred for superior color balance, clear patterning, and refined finnage.
Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality, color-enhancing koi pellets as a staple, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Feed 1–2 times daily during warmer months.
Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish such as goldfish.
Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive, ideal for mixed koi ponds.
Experience Level:
