Origin

Endemic to Lake Malawi, East Africa. Prefers rocky habitats with sandy patches and moderate water movement.

Feeding

Omnivorous, with a preference for protein-rich foods:

  • Occasional live foods

Tank Mates

  • Other Peacock cichlids (Aulonocara spp.)

  • Non-aggressive Haplochromine cichlids

  • Avoid overly aggressive Mbuna or very small fish
