Overview:
The Benigoi Butterfly Koi is a striking variety known for its deep, uniform red coloration and elegant long fins. Its bold appearance and smooth swimming motion make it a standout feature in any ornamental pond.

Origin:
Originating from Japan, the Benigoi variety was developed through selective breeding of traditional Kohaku lines, with butterfly fins later introduced to enhance visual appeal.

Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed a high-quality koi pellet as a staple diet, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Feed 1–2 times daily during warmer months.

Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Suitable for mixed koi ponds and compatible with other calm, similarly sized pond fish such as goldfish.

Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive. Ideal for community ponds.
