The Kikokuryu Butterfly Japanese Koi is a striking ornamental koi with a metallic body featuring bold black patterns over white or silver, enhanced by long, flowing butterfly fins. Its shimmering scales and graceful swimming make it a captivating centerpiece in any premium pond.

Origin:
Originating from Japan, the Kikokuryu variety is prized for its dramatic pattern contrast and reflective scales. The butterfly-fin specimen has been selectively bred for superior color clarity, pattern balance, and elegant finnage.

Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality, color-enhancing koi pellets as a staple, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Feed 1–2 times daily during warmer months.

Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish such as goldfish.

Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive, ideal for mixed koi ponds.
