The Koromo Butterfly Japanese Koi is a stunning ornamental koi featuring a white or light base body with a layered, lace-like blue or black pattern overlaying red markings. Its long, flowing butterfly fins and intricate coloration make it a captivating centerpiece in any premium pond.
Origin:
Originating from Japan, the Koromo variety is prized for its delicate “dressed” patterning, combining the beauty of Kohaku or Taisho Sanke with a secondary net-like overlay. This Grade A butterfly specimen has been selectively bred for superior color clarity, pattern balance, and elegant finnage.
Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality, color-enhancing koi pellets as a staple, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Feed 1–2 times daily during warmer months.
Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish such as goldfish.
Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive, ideal for mixed koi ponds.
Experience Level:
