The Kumonryu Butterfly Japanese Koi is a striking and ever-changing ornamental koi, known for its dramatic black-and-white patterning that can shift with seasons and water conditions. Enhanced by long, flowing butterfly fins, this variety offers a dynamic and elegant presence in any premium pond.

Origin:
Originating from Japan, the Kumonryu is a Doitsu (scaleless) koi renowned for its unique ability to change pattern and contrast over time. The butterfly-fin variety adds grace and movement while preserving the bold visual impact of this distinctive koi type.

Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality, color-enhancing koi pellets as a staple, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Feed 1–2 times daily during warmer months.

Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish such as goldfish.
