Overview:
The Matsuba Butterfly Koi is a visually striking koi with a metallic body and distinctive reticulated (pinecone-like) scale pattern. Its long, flowing fins and graceful swimming make it a standout addition to any ornamental pond.

Origin:
Developed in Japan, the Matsuba variety is prized for its unique scaled patterning and has been enhanced with butterfly fins to combine classic koi aesthetics with elegant movement.

Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality koi pellets as a staple, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Feed 1–2 times daily during warmer months.

Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish like goldfish.

Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive, ideal for community ponds.

Experience Level:
Beginner to advanced. Hardy and adaptable, but requires sufficient pond space and proper filtration.
