Overview:
The Matsuba Butterfly Grade A Koi is a striking ornamental koi distinguished by its metallic body and bold, net-like (pinecone) scale pattern. Combined with long, flowing butterfly fins, this variety offers a refined and elegant presence that stands out beautifully in any pond.

Origin:
Originating from Japan, the Matsuba variety is valued for its crisp reticulation and metallic sheen. This Grade A butterfly specimen has been selectively bred for superior pattern definition, vibrant coloration, and graceful finnage.

Feeding:
Omnivorous. Feed high-quality, color-enhancing koi pellets as a staple, supplemented with vegetables, shrimp, or seasonal treats. Feed 1–2 times daily during warmer months.

Tank / Pond Mates:
Peaceful and social. Best kept with other koi or calm, similarly sized pond fish such as goldfish.

Temperament / Aggression:
Very peaceful and non-aggressive, making it ideal for mixed koi ponds.
