Recognizable for its <strong data-start=\"287\" data-end=\"368\">elongated body, spotted reddish-brown markings, and tall sail-like dorsal fin<\/strong>, this fish is both striking and unusual. It spends much of its time perched on rockwork or coral, using its comb-like teeth to graze.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"506\" data-end=\"626\"><strong data-start=\"506\" data-end=\"517\">Origin:<\/strong><br data-start=\"517\" data-end=\"520\" \/>Widespread throughout the <strong data-start=\"546\" data-end=\"562\">Indo-Pacific<\/strong>, particularly in coral-rich reefs from East Africa to Hawaii.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"628\" data-end=\"945\"><strong data-start=\"628\" data-end=\"640\">Feeding:<\/strong><br data-start=\"640\" data-end=\"643\" \/>Specialized <strong data-start=\"655\" data-end=\"670\">corallivore<\/strong> \u2013 primarily feeds on <strong data-start=\"692\" data-end=\"725\">live coral polyps in the wild<\/strong>. In captivity, it is very difficult to maintain, as it rarely accepts prepared foods. Some individuals may pick at <strong data-start=\"841\" data-end=\"893\">frozen mysis, brine shrimp, or algae-based foods<\/strong>, but survival without coral polyps is often poor.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"947\" data-end=\"1169\"><strong data-start=\"947\" data-end=\"962\">Tank Mates:<\/strong><br data-start=\"962\" data-end=\"965\" \/>Best kept alone or with <strong data-start=\"989\" data-end=\"1011\">peaceful reef fish<\/strong>. Not suitable for tanks with prized corals, as it will nip and feed on them.
