The Blue Carpet Anemone, scientifically known as Stichodactyla haddoni<\/em>, is a stunning large host anemone admired for its vibrant colour forms\u2014most famously brilliant blue, but also found in green, red, or tan. It has a broad, carpet-like oral disc covered in short tentacles that can reach up to 50 cm (20 inches)<\/strong> in diameter. This species is both beautiful and demanding, making it suitable only for dedicated marine aquarists who can meet its needs.<\/p>\n

Origin<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Found throughout the Indo-Pacific region<\/strong>, including the Red Sea, Maldives, Fiji, and Australia. It typically inhabits sandy bottoms and lagoonal reef flats, often partially buried with only its oral disc visible.<\/p>\n
